There are two main coating, or "specimen preparation", procedures described in this tutorial. Both procedures make use of Stress Photonics new TintCoat™ Enhanced Photoelastic Coating.

The first procedure is a simple "paint-on" method where the coating is literally painted onto the specimen with a brush.

The second procedure makes use of Stress Photonics new FlexCoat™ Rubber Transfer Sheets to transfer a partially cured coating onto a highly contoured surface.
